Container logistics is a well-thought-out concept that covers the entire process, from consulting and planning to loading, unloading and storing containers.
Container logistics handles the following points in detail:
- Disposition
- Procurement
- Transportation
- Transshipment
- Storage
- Cleaning
- Maintenance
- Repair
- Servicing
- Inspection
Containers are now an integral part of global trade and have triggered a revolution in the transportation sector. Around 90 % of general cargo shipped worldwide is transported from A to B in containers. The container is made from a high-strength steel frame, which in turn is planked with steel profiles. A standardized dimension had to be found so that the containers could be used as universally as possible. ISO containers are large-capacity containers standardized in accordance with ISO 668, which make loading, storing, transporting and unloading goods much more efficient. ISO standardization has resulted in a container that can be used, stacked and transported anywhere.
