Mobile data capture (MDC)

With mobile data capture (MDC), data can be recorded at any location using barcodes, keyboard input and transponders. The recorded data is sent to the computer either via WLAN, GPRS or collected via a docking station. This type of recording is often found in industrial, production and trading companies.

Application of mobile data acquisition:

  • Warehouse management, in particular for stocktaking, article removal, shipping and incoming and outgoing goods
  • Stock displays
  • Filling shelves
  • Proof of delivery

Devices for mobile data capture can have various functions integrated, e.g. a barcode reader, RFID, a keyboard, a touchscreen and a camera.
