Warehouse

What is a warehouse?

Materials and goods are stored in warehouses that are only needed later and must be kept available for later use, e.g. for sale. A warehouse is an entire building or individual premises.

A warehouse incurs operating costs and requires a lot of space. In the manufacturing sector, the just-in-time process is therefore used to save storage space. This means that the goods are delivered exactly when they are needed for production.

These types of storage exist in companies:

  • Warehouse
  • Material store
  • Workshop warehouse
  • Interim storage
  • Shipping warehouse
  • Raw material warehouse
  • Sales warehouse
  • Finished goods warehouse
