What is an unloading point?
An unloading point describes an address at which deliveries can be loaded or unloaded using a means of transportation. In addition to the address, information about the spatial conditions at the unloading point is also important. Each type of warehouse usually has its own type of unloading point. This includes, for example, a ramp where the goods are unloaded.
Which criteria can be used to route trucks to the unloading points?
- Is the space free on arrival?
- Has the time slot for the truck been reached?
- Are sufficient capacities such as forklifts and personnel available at the unloading point?
- Are the call-offs from production compatible with the loading?
- Are there sufficient open spaces for full and empty containers?
