What are industrial trucks?
Most goods and raw materials are too bulky and heavy to simply carry around. This is why a wide variety of industrial trucks are used in logistics, industry and trade to move goods.
This type of vehicle can be moved freely on the "floor", which is where the German term "Flurfördermittel" originates. Transport equipment such as cranes, for example, which move goods vertically, are called overhead conveyors.
Industrial trucks: these types are available
Most of the industrial trucks in use are trackless. These include:
- Forklift truck
- Low lift truck
- Tugboat
- Scissor lift truck
- Eclectic pallet truck
- Lift truck with scales
- Manual pallet truck
In addition to these, there are also track-bound industrial trucks, such as the goods trolley. This enables the transportation of particularly heavy goods and raw materials and is mostly used in industry. There are also track-guided industrial trucks, but they are rather rare. These systems usually do not require a driver.
