What is supplier evaluation?
In the course of supplier evaluation, suppliers are assessed on the basis of certain characteristics with regard to service, performance, quality, error rate, price and reliability. Supplier evaluation allows different suppliers to be compared.
Supplier evaluation is part of supplier management.
The following criteria are queried when evaluating potential suppliers:
- Is the supplier suitable?
- Is the supplier efficient enough?
- Does the supplier fulfil your own requirements in terms of reliability, quality, legal security and environmental protection?
- Price-performance ratio
- Regional proximity
- Market power
- Quality of the goods
- Transparency of supply
In the case of existing supplier relationships, for example, the following criteria are queried:
- Delivery reliability / adherence to delivery dates
- Cleanliness and orderliness of production
- Compliance with safety regulations
- Condition of the machinery
- Error and failure rates
- Flexibility
